25 Feb Colour trends for interiors in 2019
We take our responsibility as the leading independent estate agent in Tunbridge Wells seriously and so we don’t just care about selling and renting houses. We want to be the ‘go-to’ guys for all your property needs. With that in mind, we’re here to advise you on some of the things you can do to make the most of your property, whether you’re about to sell or not.
Last month we touched on the benefits of decluttering and this month we’re taking a look at some of the colour trends which will make your home feel great to live in but also attractive to potential buyers!
On trend for 2019
We’ve taken a look at a some leading interior designer’s recommendations to identify some of the colour palettes which are on trend for this year. While the classic greys and whites are still a popular choice its black which is leading the way, using it in combination with rich, earthy colours and pale and subtle tones, we’re seeing a lot of contrast.
Matt black and Metallics
Using matt black furniture in contrast with metallic accessories work beautifully together, adding texture and shine to your décor. Even something as simple as a matt black photo frame can complement your existing set up and create focal points all around the room.
Terracotta
Pantone, the design trade’s colour company has chosen Living Coral as its colour of the year for 2019, so expect to see burnt orange tones in all the latest interior trend magazines. Adding terracotta accessories to your existing scheme will bring summer to your home all year round.
Warm Tones
Sticking with the ‘colour of the year’ theme, Dulux have chosen Spiced Honey as theirs. This is a warm, earthy tone which can create a cosy feeling environment and while you might not use the product itself it is easy to replicate with wallpaper and soft furnishings.
Greenery
This is a must have in all interior space. Fresh flowers and plants not only bring life to a space but add bursts of vivid colour to a room. In a society which is technology driven, it is fitting to have some more natural tones in our décor, wood floors and stone will prove popular throughout the year.
We are by no means interior designers, but we do know what sells when it comes to properties in Tunbridge Wells. So if you are decorating your property to make it more attractive to potential buyers make sure you leave something to the imagination. While potential buyers will want to see the property at its best, they’ll also want to be able to envisage what they could achieve with the same space.
